Rip Off This Skin

My hands recently got overheated while burning some old cut down trees in the yard and as a result my skin began peeling off all over my hands like a sunburned back. I got to thinking about shedding this skin...

Rip off this skin
There is more underneath
That is growing and straining
Against the current
Molded form
I will gladly bear
Any stretchmarks
And wear them as
Badges of honor
Once the new
Being takes it's
Stand in the
Birth of a new
Horizon.
