What Remains? deux

One of the elemental proddings of finding inspiration I think may come from the internal need to make a lasting impression. At the end of one's life will your memory be held only by a select few who have shoeboxes of old photos? Will the name etched on your grave be the final mark you leave on this earth?
When that White Whale of an idea is somehow unleashed it resonates in a way that at your passing millions can at least say "what a shame, the world is a little less fortunate."
I'm not speaking of fame. I have no desire for stardom. But I do desire influence. A vast can of spraypaint to mark a continent "Kilroy was here". Just a mark saying that something I did, something I contributed made a lasting difference.
